Shureimon is a gate which calls an official name Uinuaijyo and is in the Shuri castle park, and, naturally is some Shuri castles. Although Shureimon is famous in the case of the Okinawa sightseeing and proud of notability about the same as the Shuri castle at especially the Shuri castle at it, an actual place is one of the gates which constitute the fortress of the Shuri castle, and is not special, either. It has been said that that it is in the place nearest to the Shuri castle entrance or this gate's having been once designated as the national treasure (1933), and the design of a gate merely have an atmosphere truly in character with Okinawa in the background with Shureimon famous so far. It seems that history is old although it is such Shureimon, and a formal foundation fiscal year is unknown although it is said that it was founded by the time (1527 to 1555) of the King second Syo Mr. 4th generation Syosei of the Ryukyu Dynasty age. When it says in Japan, it is foundation of the age which hits at the Muromachi period. The common name of Shureimon is coming from having been written to the frame covered over the King 6th generation Syoei's (1573-1588) time at the gate as Shurei-no-Kuni. Moreover, it is said that this language has the meaning that Ryukyu Kingdom is a country respecting courtesy. It seems that it is not independently since Shurei was always standing by here. Moreover, the language of Shurei-no-Kuni is a message from the Banreki emperor who was the China emperor at the time,I am because praising language was obtained and also feel that Ryukyu Dynasty of Okinawa which was a small country can observe and know signs that it was caring about the relation with China which is a major nation very much "for Ryukyu to be sufficient for calling the country of Shurei." In addition, Shureimon will be devastated at the time of the battle with the Japanese army which assigned headquarters in the bottom moat of Shuri Shirochi in three 1945 years by the Pacific War and Battle of Okinawa during June [ per month / on 26 - ] 23, and the U.S. Forces which landed at Okinawa, and existing Shureimon was rebuilt in 1958,It was first restored at the time of restoration of the ruins of the Shuri castle destroyed by the Pacific War.
Sonohyan-utaki-ishimon which is also world heritage is the building in the Shuri castle entrance this side which is made of a Ryukyu limestone. The woods in the inner part of Shimen are a sacred place to which importance is most attached by Ryukyu Dynasty currently called Sonohyan-utaki,Although the Sonohyan-utaki entrance is pointed out at the gate in Sonohyan-utaki which has deified God "Tanoue-no-Sonohyabu" of the Iheya island connected with Mr. [ royal family Syo ],In fact, there is no function as a gate and it has a place-of-worship role to a sacred place. In the place said to have prayed for the safety of the trip when the king of Ryukyu comes out of a castle and patrols countries, it is designated also as the important cultural property of the country here. It is said that those who is called Saito founded foundation in 1519 of the King second Syo Mr. 3rd generation Syoshin's time. Although the remarkable damage was worn by Battle of Okinawa, it is restored to the present form in 1957. Moreover, it registers with the world's cultural heritage of UNESCO as Gusuku and the related inheritance group of Ryukyu Kingdom with the Shuri castle etc. in 2000.
