Oshino-Hakkai is in Oshino-mura near Yamanakako.
It is said that this is a pond in the souvenir store's site in fact
although it is the scenery of representing Oshino-Hakkai which appears also with a sightseeing photograph well here.
Actual Oshino-Hakkai is eight ponds (Wakuike, Deguchiike, Okamaike, Nigoriike, Sokonukeike, Kagamiike, Cyousiike, Syobuike) with which it is dotted around this area.
It is said that it is called Oshino-Hakkai.
Or [ it takes what and no less than 80 years until the subsoil water here begins to spring ].
In the Oshino-mura circumference and Yamanakako, what was one lake called a Uzu lake a cause of Oshino-Hakkai from the first a long time ago,
It is said that the lava flow flowed in and it has been divided into Yamanakako and the Oshino lake by the Mt. Fuji major volcanic eruption of Enryaku which happened in A.D. 800.
The Oshino lake which was near present Oshino-mura after that has withered utterly, and eight ponds begin to spring the subsoil water of Mt. Fuji as a springwater place now.
It is said that it is in the state where it has left the image of the Oshino lake as a place.
All the Five Lakes of Mount Fuji are lakes realized considering the subsoil water from Mt. Fuji as a head from the first.
When the Oshino lake was existing, possibly it was counted in Fuji 6 lake.
