Kurobe Gorge
Kurobe Gorge is a canyon where the precipitous cliff between
the Tateyama mountain range and a back Tateyama mountain range stands in a row,
and is a canyon which has done Mt. Washiba in the North Alps which completed this precipitous cliff along about 85km [ which is made into a source / in full length ] Kurobe river.
Although it was an unexplored region before, the truck train operates to Keyakidaira now and anyone could enter this unexplored region freely.

Kurobe Gorge is surrounded by the steep precipitous cliff,
does not have a way, either, and was called unexplored region which does not allow people to come near at
all before. It is after the Kurobe Dam construction work of the Kansai Electric Power starts that people
came to go into the Kurobe Gorge. The Kurobekyokoku Railway construction which began from Unazuki in
1923 (Taisho 12) will be opened for traffic to a Nekomata station in 1926 (Taisho 15), cutting a cliff,
and materials conveyance of dam construction will start still more in 1924 (Taisho 13) in parallel with
it. Yes, from the first, there is Kurobekyokoku Railway a sake [ the materials of an electric power
company, and for man trips ], and it was not an object for general sightseeing. It is that the railroad
was opened for traffic to the terminal point Keyakidaira.
The time for 15 years was spent very much from the construction start. And Kurobekyokoku Railway of 20.1km
of the total extension completed at last here. Moreover, it is general sightseeing's also having a strong
request from Toyama Prefecture, and having started operation as Kurobekyokoku Railway formally. Moreover,
many dams can be seen in along a canyon. It is the ShinYanagawara plant of the old castle style of Unazuki
Dam and the West that leave the Unazuki station (altitude of 224m), cross a ShinYamabiko bridge, and it is
visible first. If it runs for a while from there, the rock called Hotokeishi to the ridge of a right-hand
dam lake can be seen.
Since the red hat is worn as the inside of a slope, it is known immediately. Moreover, if it goes for a
while, it will arrive at a Kuronagi station, and only those who go to a Kuronagi hot spring here can get
on and off. Famous iron bridge and Atobiki bridge are visible to the direction of movement of a Kuronagi
station, and a ravine is [ along the railroad line ] the deepest, and has no less than 60m in height from
river bottom. And that it is visible to the next has played the role of the barrier to prevent landslides
a Dashidaira dam and here. If it goes to the back further from there, there will be the second plant of
Kurobe of completion in 1936 (Showa 11).
The precipitous cliff made with the granite with a height of 200m called rat return is before [ station ]
Nekomata. It is said that it is a meaning said that rat return and a cat are also the same as the origin
of the name of Nekomata is also coming from rat return. At this station, passing each other of
an up-and-down truck train is performed. If the Kaneturi station (altitude of 443m) which can go to a
Kaneturi hot spring if it goes to the upper stream further from here, and the third plant of Kurobe are
passed, it will arrive at the terminal point Keyakidaira (altitude of 599m).
The canyon after this serves as a route for mountaineers. There is no courage with the sidewalk of the
width which is a grade in which one person can walk along the base rock of a precipitous cliff toward the
direction of Kurobe Dam which goes although that is right, and it is not also for general. Although it is
said that goods are carried to the fourth dam of Kurobe using the subterranean line which the 34 degrees
of slant which connect with a top orbit using the elevator of 200m of vertical intervals which can load
the truck itself as an exclusive route of an electric power company in a dugout, and are called an
