The origin of the name of Kimii-dera

Kimii-dera was founded in 770 by the hand of the visiting monk
and the Iko saint from Tang of those days.
Although it is said that it was a temple of the Shingon sect from the first,
independently of the Shingon sect, it is a head temple of Guzekannonsyu now.
It is said that it is so called from there being three springwater
although it is the origin of the name of Kimii-dera.
