After emitting a source on the south slope in north Alps Mt. Yarigatake,
it flows and Azusagawa gets down from the Myojin pond or Taishoike,
and if Taishoike is passed, it will go into a steep canyon.
It is said that an iron pot tunnel is a tunnel dug in order to avoid a deep canyon also out of Azusagawa.
Moreover, after passing a canyon, the Narai river is joined, Saigawa and a name are changed,
it becomes Chikuma River on the Kawanaka island,
Shinano River and a name are changed after that in Niigata Prefecture,
and it flows into the Sea of Japan.
It is the origin in Shinano River which is proud of a length of 367km which is the longest river in Japan.
