Ishiyama-dera in Otsu-shi, Shiga is Sekkouzan about an official name. It is a temple which calls it Ishiyama-dera and belongs to the Shingon sect. Faith of people is collected for many years as a Kannon circuit on a par with Chokoku-ji in Nara Prefecture, or Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto. It is said that this huge Keikaiseki is the rock which is made of a compound of calcium (lime) and silicic acid, and is the rock which the granite entered into the limestone by activity of magma, and was made by heat denaturation. Moreover, if it enters at the Heian period, a poet and a literary man will visit to pray and stay at this Ishiyama-dera. In the place which remains and goes into record, Murasakishikibu famous for "GenjiMonogatari" visits to pray in 1004, and it is said that a detailed plan for a tale was worked out. SugawaraTakasuenoMusume which is the author of "Sarasinanikki" has also worshipped at Ishiyama-dera in 1001.
