Genbudo

It is the wallpaper of Genbudo and a hydrangea in Toyooka, Hyogo.
Genbudo is located in Akaishi, Toyooka-shi, Hyogo-ken,
and it is famous also for Japan as a place where the unique columnar joint which carried out folding is seen, and Genbudo is from the unique form.
It is specified as the natural treasure of the country on February 20, 1931 (Showa 6).

It is said that Genbudo was made by the volcanic activity of about 1,600,000 years ago. It is said that the plate collided briskly and the volcanic zone which collided and which is previously called a volcanic front was formed in the Japanese Islands those days. Moreover, it is said that a part of volcanic zone which surround the Pacific Ocean from around about 2 million years before is formed, and the volcano had erupted briskly [ various parts of the Japanese Islands ] those days in the Japanese Islands located near a plate boundary. The Tajima district and the outskirts of Genbudo are also not an exception but a Hachibuse volcano and a Hyonosen volcano,It seems that an Ooya volcano etc. works, and the time is placed, an Ooginoyama volcano group, Genbudo, and a Kannabe volcano group work, and it is supposed that Chugoku Mountains were formed with upheaval by plate compression. That in which the lava in which the lava of Genbudo blew off these days was getting cold and gathering is what appeared by the corrosion of the wave etc., and although the basis was not a cave, either, the hole which mined basalt remains in the Edo period as a cave. In fact, Genbudo was a quarry of basalt of the Edo period. Moreover, Seiryudo left behind in the form in which the columnar joint which carried out folding besides Genbudo is very beautiful,Byakkodo as which only the columnar joint of a new transverse direction is regarded, Minamizuzakudo as which the folding of a columnar joint compactly settled although it was small is regarded, and Kitasuzakudo named from it being visible to the form of the red Chinese phoenix which extended feather are in the Genbudo public inside a garden.
